Last Friday Cüneyit represented Totems at the iF Award Ceremony in Munich and received the Golden Cup for the best fair stand on the stage of the Neue Pinakothek der Moderne in front of approximately 400 guests. The award team next to Cüneyit are also Frank ‘MacGyver’ Ulrich, Uli ‘Sexgott’ Henzler and Achim ‘Material Superstar’ Groll! Congratulations to ya all. Great job! You guys deserve the fame. Game on!

This is Achim. He is scouting for new materials and knows almost everything about innovative materials for archietcture and design. In the studio we get bored when Achim gets a new parcel with new samples. Anyway. His field of activity became so popular that Chris (a colleague) applied already for an internal internship…

Here we go again! Uli wins GOLD for a felt thousandth time. As soon as Uli is involved in a project, you can actually count on the fact that this project will be a very special one. Not only his work ist more than outstanding, it is also very relaxed and fun to work with him. Totems is nothing without Uli. Thanx dude! (Dear headhunter: just don’t even think of it! This guy is priceless!)

Here are the Ulrichs in down under! Frank with his three sons Nick, Luis and Emil are looking for something/someone on the beach… we have no clue what they are digging for. Maybe they are looking for the major client who wants them to open an australian Totems studio? Maybe they are just looking for food? Beach chicks? Money? We don’t know. Anyway, enjoy your vacation guys!

Nokia introduces its new N-Series. The message: computers are crap – the new Nokia is all you need! On www.jealouscomputers.com the user can click through different computer attacks… Crazy stuff. But a cool idea to introduce a new mobile. They sure think different.

Meeting Jan Bazing (master of illustration, lecturer at the “Kunstakademie Stuttgart” and member of the ADC) in his studio. He is illustrating the ride for the Expo’08 and is responsible for the character design. By the way: meeting Jan in his studio is always a pleasure: every now and then boys and girls from the neighborhood come to visit and tell him about his or her personal problems. Some think this is annoying, we rather think it is inspiring. Welcome to real life.

After TEN years of being successful in business, Totems finally managed to organise a receipt stamp (Eingangsstempel).

Last wednesday Carola, Fabian, Jean-Louis and Chris went on an excursion to Germany’s largest amusement park near Freiburg. We didn’t go their for fun – it was serious business! We had meetings with the engineers who build the water-ride for the German Pavillion at the 2008 Expo in Zaragoza. The discussions went really well, we solved many problems and since we had a pretty efficient meeting, there was time enough to enjoy the rest of the day.
