The Art Directors Club invited for the annual YOUNG MASTERS SEMINAR EVENT. 25 curious participants travelled to Berlin to listen to what the keynotespeakers had to say. Chris was the Totems representative and enthused the crowd. But all speaches were outstanding. With subjects such as “stroytelling”, “sound branding”, “ideating” and so on. The seminar offered a great variety of creative aspects concerning live communication. Watch out for the next show.

The University of Stuttgart, department of Architecture invited Totems and Milla & Partner to hold a keynote on their Expo experiences. Both studios have a strong knowledge in storytelling and environmental design. Peter and Henrike of Milla explained the status quo for the German Pavilion at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai and Chris (Totems) demonstrated in an entertaining way the fascination of designing the German Pavilion at the past Expo in Zaragoza. All parties had great fun and the students loved it.

Sara finished her studies and unfortunately leaves us too. She will start her career as a designer at the McKinsey Company. You might now ask: what the hell has a designer has to do at McKinsey? Well, Sara helps these guys to come up with stunnings presentations. We congratulate the consulting company for hiring an excellent designer. Sara did an outstanding job here at Totems. She always was warrantor for great design solutions.

Last monday the girls persuaded some of us to join them on a carnevals party. We, the boys, first had no intention of going to a party. In fact: we had no costume! But since we are working in a creative design studio we came up with some ideas. Achim came up with the best costume idea: he took a red cap, pasted up his ear, put on an austrian accent and called himself Niki Lauda! Brilliant. Than we all went to the party, got awfully drunk and had a giant hang over the day after. HELAU!

Yes. It is true: We love Apple. This beautiful snapshot was taken two weeks ago, showing Frank and Florian with their new toys. Somehow it is amazing (maybe also frightening) of how a brand has such a strong impact on someone. Nevertheless, we keep on unsing these fanstatic machines…
